The deadline for applying for the municipal accommodation tax subsidy is approaching

Submitted by the City of Friday Harbor.

The City of Friday Harbor Accommodation Tax Advisory Committee is accepting applications until 4:30 p.m. Monday, September 12 for grants to fund the tourism promotion of events and activities taking place in the city in 2023. Preference will be given to those operations and activities that encourage tourists to visit during shoulder and winter seasons. Summer activities are acceptable but should be timed to avoid what are recognized as high traffic weekends.

New this year, applications can be submitted by email or on paper, preferably both. Interested parties should review the Request for Proposal and complete the LTAC Grant Application available at City Hall, 60 Second Street, Friday Harbor, Washington, and on the City’s website: www.fridayharbor.org. Applications must be submitted to the town hall no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 12.

LTAC grants are awarded annually by the city council and are funded by the state hotel tax levied on all in-town lodging stays of less than 30 days.
