The Pe Ell School District is seeking a candidate to serve the last 15 months of an unexpired term in a general position with the Pe Ell School Board, the district announced Monday.
The seat was previously held by Byran King, who lost a bid for the post 2 seat in November 2021, but was later appointed to a vacant seat.
King resigned to allow a family member to take a job with the school district, according to Superintendent Kyle MacDonald.
“A council member cannot have certain family members working in the district earning more than $200 per month if they were not employed in the district before the council member was elected or appointed,” said MacDonald said in an email to The Chronicle on Monday, “The council member decided that the family member’s job was important to his family and therefore resigned. »
Interested applicants may submit a letter of interest to the Pe Ell School District Administration Office at 519 N. Second St. or email MacDonald at [email protected]
Applications will be reviewed on October 7 and an interview will follow at an undetermined date.
The position will remain open until filled, according to the Pe Ell School District.
Only residents of the Pe Ell School District are eligible to apply.
