DALLAS, Aug. 23, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Mark Cuban Foundation will host Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamps for high school students in the fall of 2022. The free AI Bootcamp will be for high school students and will feature underserved students from the Grades 9-12 in basic AI concepts and skills.
The Mark Cuban Foundation will host more than 25 camps across the United States in fall 2022.
The bootcamps will take place over four consecutive Saturdays beginning October 22 and ending November 12.
The student and parent application is open at markcubanai.org/application. Students not need prior computer, programming, or robotics experience to apply and attend. The deadline to apply is September 1st2022.
Throughout the AI Bootcamp, students will learn what artificial intelligence is and is not, where they already interact with AI in their own lives, and the ethical implications of AI systems including, but not limited to, TikTok recommendations, smart home assistants, facial recognition and self-driving cars to name a few.
Students will benefit from volunteer mentor instructors who are knowledgeable in data science and are able to help students quickly understand material normally taught at the college level. As part of the 5-hour program, students also work daily in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, to create their own AI applications related to chatbots, computer vision, machine learning and natural language processing.
The Mark Cuban Foundation provides educational bootcamp materials, trains volunteer mentors, and recruits and selects local students to attend the camp. Additionally, the Mark Cuban Foundation and the host company work together to provide food, transportation, and access to laptops for students at free of charge throughout the duration of the Bootcamp.

Founded by Mark Cuban in 2019, the AI Bootcamp initiative has hosted free AI bootcamps for students in several US cities, including Dallas, Pasadena, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Atlantic City, to name a few. -ones. The Mark Cuban Foundation has impacted over 450 students to date and aims to have 1,000 students graduate from the AI Bootcamps program in 2023.
