Filey Sports Pavilion in Liquor Enforcement

The Filey Playing Fields Association has applied for a license to serve alcohol and hold live music performances at premises in Padbury Drive, Filey.

An application for permission to serve alcohol and host various types of entertainment in a new location in Filey has been submitted to Scarborough Council for consideration.

Submitted by the Filey Playing Fields Association, the application for a premises license is for what would be known as the Sports Pavilion.

If approved without change, the sports pavilion would be permitted to serve alcohol on-site seven days a week.

The hours of service requested are Sunday to Thursday between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Friday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and midnight.

The app also requests permission to host the movie exhibition, indoor sporting events, live music performances, any recorded music playback as well as dance performances.

Permitted hours of “regulated entertainment” would be during the same hours that were requested to serve alcohol.

However, the Filey Playing Fields Association has also requested permission to serve “late night refreshments” on Fridays and Saturdays between 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.

“The premises will function as a sports and social club and the sale of alcohol will be incidental thereto”, according to the conditions set out in Annex 2 of the application regulations.

The licensing authority or council licensing sub-committee may make further recommendations or set conditions for plan approval.

There is currently a public consultation on the plan and those wishing to make their views known should email [email protected] by August 24.

Submissions can also be sent to Scarborough Town Hall offices.
