Adani New Industries Ltd. has built a wind turbine at Mundra in Gujarat as part of its renewable energy growth plans that is taller than the Statue of Unity and whose blades are wider than the wingspan of a jumbo jet.
According to a statement from the company, “Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL) on Thursday announced the installation of the country’s largest Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) in Mundra, Gujarat.”
Mundra Windtech Ltd (MWL), a wholly owned company of Adani Enterprises Ltd., installed the turbine (AEL).
This prototype is also the first addition from Adani New Industries Ltd. (ANIL) to its portfolio and paved the way for the installation of even larger wind turbines, according to the company.
The wind turbine, which is 200 meters high and can supply more than 4,000 homes with 5.2 MW of electricity, can generate.
Its 160 meter diameter rotor makes it the most powerful wind turbine in the world. The height of the wind turbine hub is 120 meters, roughly the height of a 40-story structure.
In recent years, the popularity of wind turbines has increased dramatically. Turbines with a capacity of 4 MW or more are usually installed offshore, where machines can reach a size of 14 MW.
